Fortnite Creative: Creative mode controls, how to enter The Block

Fortnite is one of those games that evolves over time. As such, weapons come and weapons leave the game, some for no reason, others for very good reasons. This is called Vaulting and it's a little unclear why a lot of the items have been vaulted, mostly because there's a good chance they may come back. This guide lists all of the Vaulted items, reasons why they were vaulted if there were any, and when they were patched out of the game.

Basic creative mode controls, how to fly

You can move around as you would normally, but in addition you fly around by pressing space twice. You will then have buttons on the prompt on the left-hand part of the screen that allow you to control your elevation.

AR phone

You can order every single item from this menu, which can put in all sorts of different objects, manipulate their position, and generally mess around with things to your heart's content. This is the main tool of your trade when playing in Creative mode.

Prefabs and the Creative Menu

The prefabs menu comes complete with a ton of buildings that can just be selected and placed onto the map. All you need to do in order to generate a prefab is go into the menu by pressing Tab, select the item you want, then throw it down to the ground, much like a grenade or a Port-a-Fort. You'll then be able to tinker with it by equipping the AR phone.

Making objects float

While you're using the AR phone, there's an option labelled "Drop" that's by default assigned to the G key. Simply turn it off to make the object float in mid-air.

Toggling collision

Holding down the V key will change whether or not an object clips into the other object's model. This can be useful for when you're trying to get the items to merge to create odd shapes.

How to enter The Block contest

While slots one to four are dedicated for your own personal use, the fifth slot that was added recently is able to be seen by Epic Games, as your creations will be analysed and judged. If they are deemed worthy, such as the recent pyramid was in the latest update, it will appear in "The Block" on the official Fortnite map.
